Texas Water Development Board Grant Awards – Flood Infrastructure Fund: Drainage Improvement Projects – Paulson Falls (Location 8)
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has awarded $700,000 in grant and loan funding for vital drainage improvements in the Paulson Falls Subdivision.
Project Overview
The proposed improvements will address drainage issues along Paulson Falls Boulevard, with a focus on Margaret Lane, Kelly Lane, Brook Lane, and the intersection of Alice Lane. The upgrades will lower the water surface elevation, modify pond outfalls, and enhance the storm sewer system to improve water flow and prevent flooding.
Key Improvements:
- Modifications to the pond outfall to lower the water surface elevation
- Installation of additional curb inlets
- Expansion of the storm sewer drainage system
Current Issues:
- Flooding along Brook Lane, Kelly Lane, and at the Alice Lane intersection
- High water levels on roads and near homes during heavy rainfall
- Elevated water surface in the pond, creating drainage issues in the development
- Insufficient inlet and storm sewer capacity
Community Benefits:
These improvements will enhance public health and safety by mitigating flooding and improving drainage systems for residents in the Paulson Falls Subdivision.
