The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has awarded $1,499,500 in grant and loan funding for essential drainage improvements in the Forrest Park 2 Subdivision and surrounding areas.
Project Overview
The proposed drainage improvements will address flooding issues along John Street, 21st Street, and nearby streets, providing much-needed relief to the area during heavy rain events.
Key Improvements:
- Installation of a new storm sewer drainage system
- Addition of 10 new curb inlets and 7 curb inlet extensions
- Channel excavation
- Construction of 2,800 linear feet of stormwater-conveying system
Current Issues:
- Flooding along John Street, Calvin Street, Linda Street, Warren Avenue, and 21st Street
- Impassable roads during storms
- Stalled vehicles during heavy rainfall
- Low point at Warren and 21st Street with no inlets or positive outflow path
- Undersized storm sewer system
