The City of Kingsville Health Department Animal Control & Care Center received notification of a mosquito that tested positive for West Nile Virus from the Texas Department of State Health Services lab. The mosquito was trapped September 17th near the 700 block of E. Warren Ave.
👷 Crews will continue spraying the affected areas tonight. Other arbovirus testing remains negative.
👖 We do recommend residents wear long sleeves and long pants if outdoors at dawn and dusk. You should also use a mosquito repellent that contains DEET.
💧 Remember to check your property for any standing water. Buckets, tires & bird feeders can facilitate mosquito breeding.
