The Information Technology (IT) department provides the City of Kingsville with secure information and communication solutions that drive the city’s use of technology in all of its daily operations. The department’s main goals are to increase the overall effectiveness of the city’s technology infrastructure by offering streamlined IT services that not only advance the effectiveness of the city’s networking and communications, but also to help provide an optimized and responsive experience for it’s leaders, business owners, residents and visitors.
The IT department’s main responsibilities include working with the city’s budget to authorize purchases and obtain all technological equipment and needed software as needed for each department, maintaining an inventory of all devices owned by the city as well as providing regular maintenance for computers, tablet devices and other equipment. The department also handles networking equipment on all city sites and provides server maintenance and configurations.
